Trip to NYC

Brian has spent the last week in New York getting ready for his Carnegie Hall debut with the American Symphony Orchestra. Brian sang the tenor solos in two biblical oratorios last night. Sadly I did not get any photos of the hall (I was feeling a little shy I guess, I am using a small camera I do not know super well, did not want the flash to go off on accident). Here are a couple of photos in Brian's dressing room. We thought Sue Anne of the Pie of the Month Club would be happy one of her t-shirts has sung at Carnegie Hall. Including the rehearsal, we spent close to 6 hours in the hall yesterday. I had the joy of getting lost back stage several times. Beware as there are stairways that go to nowhere, and you can get locked in them if you are not careful!!

The concert went very well, Brian had some crazy things to sing in a Fanny Mendelssohn piece, and more lovely things to sing in a Louis Spohr piece. My niece who is at NYU was able to come, as did our dear friend Malia. We had a fun night afterwards going out with Brian's agent and artist manager (we are always very entertained with you Kristin! Hope we can see you again soon!) and a couple of the other soloists. It was just a quick trip, I came on Monday and home with Brian this morning. We were able to be kid free thanks to my Mom and several friends who helped with the kids. Traveling is so easy child free, but where is the challenge? While in the City we had some great Indian food, some nice Tonkatsu with our friend Carlitos, got to see Chris from Indiana, fun times all around.

In other news, Colin is the Star of the Week at his preschool. He is very proud. We went for some frozen yogurt after dinner to celebrate our return home from New York.

Colin got this shot of Brian and I at the yogurt place, I think we look cute blurry. One night Carnegie Hall, the next night a yogurt shop in Utah.

Below, the kids are all piled in the new phil&teds stroller since we took a late walk to get yogurt. I have some kind of exciting phil&teds news but probably need to wait for a bit. Very exciting however! It makes me giggle. I love baby gear in general but really love phil&teds.

Yay for trick or treating at home, and a NY trip kid free. It is always fun to play a non-mom grown up for a little time.

I love your pictures, and I love that Jane wanted to be her brother's side kick!
