2nd Sunday

It's our second or third year counting down the Sundays of Advent with our kids. Trying to keep Christ in Christmas you know. I love the symbolism of the light of Christ slowly growing leading up to His birth. The kids love it. Brian has been annoyed recently by kids Christmas specials on TV where Christmas is threatened by a missing Santa. Thanks to the Grinch for showing us that Christmas does not come from a store. Perhaps Christmas means a little bit more.

Today we lit the 2 candles and read our lovely Tommie dePaola pop up Christmas story (thanks to April who got me the copy!) Our kids love it.

Colin also had to show off his new Christmas activity book from Nana.

To celebrate Kate's first 3 months, we got out her zero candle. We intended to make her a cake but have not gotten that far yet. She'll be zero for a while yet, no rush. She is starting to grab things, it is very cute for now. Too bad, she was tired and not super smiley for the photos. She is getting easy in some ways, andvery, very cute.

Below it looks like she is planning some baby mischief, like not staying asleep in her bed as she is doing right now. I have seriously put her down four times and she keeps waking up. She is a great sleeper if someone will lay down right next to her. I am more than happy to do that but I have these details of two other kids and Brian out of town for the next 8 days. Heaven help us.

The last photo reminds me of <a href="http://mlblogsbrewersbeat.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/100276794_548c83c4eb.jpg>this one</a>, except that Kate is far more cute.
