Jane, World- World, Jane

Last night after a very brief but intense labor, we welcomed Jane Emmeline into the world. Ann was incredible. She started having mild contractions in church at about 2:30. Things got a little more serious at around 5:30 with contractions coming every 3 minutes or less. At 7:50 we arrived at the birth center. Ann was dilated to 5 centimeters. Less than two hours later Jane was born. The birth center was wonderful- calm and quiet. It was just us, our midwife and a nurse. As with Colin, Ann just trusted her body and gave herself to every contraction. We were a little surprised at how fast things went once the pushing began- 3 pushes was all it took.


Born 9:44 PM. 8 lbs. 9oz.

    She is beautiful! Congratulations to all. Good work, Ann. In that sleeping picture, she looks a lot like Colin. Wishing you happy latching and as much sleep as possible:)

    Oh, congratulations, she is beautiful! I am glad that everything went well with little Jane's birth. How does Colin like his new little sister? I love her little jammies. How wonderful to finally hold her in your arms!
