We also got to photograph this lovely mezzo. She was very fun and gorgeous to photograph!

Our lovely niece Kait is getting married in the Fall and we got to do her engagement photos not long ago. We are so happy for her and Micah!

The kids got a Dora and Diego cookbook for Christmas and they really wanted to make the Dora castle cake. We had an incident with the food color with the red lid on the yellow color paste. I did not notice until too late, thanks to 2 kids screaming at me about who got to lick the bowl and the beater from the frosting. So the cake was supposed to be purple but turned this dark green instead. Oh well, we decided it was a rain forest cake. I had been reading recently about using more natural food coloring and had even looked up where to buy some but a few times a year won't hurt too much (we hope).

Colin noticed that I had one gumdrop going the wrong way and he gave me a little talking to about following the recipe and the picture more carefully. Thanks Colin.

Jane was delighted.

It was windy and Brian loves any reason to use the culinary torch.

My mom got both our kids sparkler candles for their birthdays and they were very exciting.

We had some nice friends over (who sadly will be moving soon) to help us eat cake. It was funny talking about our efforts to limit sugar as we continued to pick at the cake.

Everything was green. It is even green today on the other end if you know what I am talking about.

The girls were being very cute tossing the soccer ball and then the boys tackled Jane.

Again, Happy birthday little Jane! We were also going to do a pinata but we had had enough for this year. This however was Jane's first birthday home since she was born.

And for part 3, we headed up to Park City. Jane had not taken a nap but needed one so we had her sleep a bit in the car. The last time we were in Park City it was 19 degrees. The Park City Spring is further behind further down in the valley, tons of daffodils and tulips still.

Sadly we were too late for the Kimball Arts Center (we always love seeing what is there.) We actually spent most of our time in the LDS Family History Center since we knew there would be a bathroom for Colin's emergency. There were some very nice missionaries who let the kids play some games on-line, gave the kids ice cream cones and sang to Jane for her birthday. Jane was so cute when she realized the Happy Birthday song was for her. Brian sang a few hymns for the missionaries too, it was really quite fun.

Kids ran up Main Street.

We found a little stage and were treated to a special Colin and Jane Dance Extravaganza.

I cannot believe how big they both are!!

I love it when they get along. I would like to think we are at about 60% getting a long and 40% fighting. It is hard to tell.

We also ran down Main Street.

And the pay and display parking meters were amazing!

AND we watched some construction!!!

Happy birthday sweet little Jane Emmeline!!! We are so happy and lucky to have you!!!

For the next part of the birthday, we went to a little local indoor playplace to ride the big rides.

The little roller coaster goes pretty fast! The kids love it!

The ride goes forwards and backwards, and this was Colin's reaction to when it started to go backwards. I think it is kind of funny because just a few days earlier Colin had something going on that produced a lot of vomit. It actually was not funny, and happened near the top of our open, wooden stairs that go down 3 floors. He had had a lot of grape juice and there was purple vomit on both sides of the walls down all three flights. Poor Brian had to do the clean up as I attended to Colin. We also had a friend over who took it very well and stayed to help take care of Jane. I think a lot of people would have taken that as a cue to leave as quick as possible. Thank goodness for patient friends who know that sometimes kids vomit. Thanks goodness too it was a quick bug that did not go onto infect anyone else!

We have a 3 year old!!! We had a fun day for Jane in 3 parts (with a couple more birthday things this coming weekend). She is such a delightful child in so many sweet ways, but the tyrannical threes may be evident already!

We had fun opening a pile of presents.

We mainly got her baby type things for her dolls so she can do her own mommy things with her babies when the new baby comes. Hope it helps!! She (and Colin) as so excited for a new sister. They talk to the baby all the time and give my belly cuddles and Jane especially all the time talks about how much she loves the new baby. Hope it lasts!

And yes, we forgot to get actual birthday candles, but for the weekend she has a #3 sparkler for her big cake. She did not mind the tea lights. She had her birthday crown from her Grandma Stucki and a new princess skirt from Grandma Hinckley.

And she would have been happy if I had just put frosting in the little mini muffin papers.
