A recent day riding her trike.
Jane runs a little wild.
And our cute little one. We need to get more photos of her, she is growing and changing so quickly.
The final round of the birthday. . . we had the kids from Colin's Primary class over for Camp Colin. There are tons of boys in the neighborhood, wish we could have invited them all! It was early Feb. but we had a gorgeous day in the high 50's. It was so nice out that it was too warm in the tent.
We had the boys run and get wood for the fire.
Fire! And Jane pulling up the rear getting wood.
We got out the big parachute.
It was crazy.
Nana made some little pigs in blankets.
And we roasted marshmallows!
Birthday smores, not too bad. A candle can still work.
Singing to the big 6 year old.
We wanted to have some survival-type games, so Brian made a stretcher. Kids loved taking turns with the fake injured.
Kind of funny, we had left some create paper out, and one little friend wrapped himself up and came out to scare everyone.
And then everything got ripped apart. There were many little boys who played like little boys. It was a fun, crazy day!
And below, one more time singing happy birthday the next day with big cousins.

To round out the events on his actual golden birthday, after we went to a movie (3D Puss n' Boots at the dollar theatre) we let Colin choose a place to get dinner. Funny boy, he loves the tofu in hot and sour soup, so we headed for some Chinese.
When we got home, he also had gifts from Nana. She got him this great kaleidoscope and other cool things.
He had requested I bring donuts into his kindergarten class. We sang to him with an extra donut on fire.
Jane also requested candles so we sang "A very Merry Un-birthday" to her. My kids know that song well as Brian plays it from the Disney song book.
How we love that little big guy below! I need to work with him to memorize the poem from "When we were six".
Our golden birthday boy!! (I think I only learned about golden birthday when I moved to Minnesota. I missed mine as it was when I was 5.)
We opened a few gifts before school.
He got a very cool new kite. Brian is also excited about the kite.
He totally adores baby Kate.
The birthday attention was very hard on a certain 3 year old. Oh man, it was hard on a certain Mommy too. We were going to meet Brian at a movie when he had a break from teaching and I nearly did not dare leave the house with Jane being such a terror. We had lots of talks about it and she turned it around for the movie.
Just for fun, sometimes Jane sleeps in rag curlers.
Here are the rag curler results.
And Colin, eating a pbj before church.
